Free notch teleprompter — really free, really open.
No trial. No paywall. No account. HeyNotch is open source under GPL-3.
Most 'free' teleprompter software locks branching, variables, longer scripts, and exports behind a paid tier. HeyNotch isn't free that way — there's no paid tier at all.
Every feature ships with the open-source binary. The GitHub repo is public. If a feature ever locks behind payment, it'll be a fork by someone else, not us.
Comparable paid teleprompter apps run $10–25/month, gate branching as 'premium', and require a cloud account. HeyNotch breaks all three: branching is in the free build, no account is needed, and your scripts never leave your laptop. The trade-off is that there's no SaaS team mailing you push updates — you download new versions from GitHub Releases.
Forever free
Not a trial. Not a freemium tier. There's just the app.
Open source
GPL-3 license. Full source on GitHub. Fork it, modify it, ship it.
Sponsor optional
If HeyNotch helps you close a deal or land a role, sponsor the project on GitHub. Otherwise, it's yours free.

Common questions
What's the catch?
No catch. The project is built and maintained by indie developers. Sponsorships pay for the time, but the app itself stays free.
Will it stay free?
GPL-3 ensures it. Even if the original developers stopped, anyone can fork and continue maintenance.
Why GPL-3?
Strong copyleft means no one can take this code, close-source it, and resell it. Keeps the project genuinely open.
